Legend of the Seeker is a television series based on The Sword of Truth novels written by Terry Goodkind. It is distributed Disney-ABC Domestic Television and ABC Studios is producing the series. The series is still in its first series and so far I have found it to be quite entertaining. This is a series that takes place in a time period that resembles the medieval times. The script writer of this series also did Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules. The main characters of the series are Richard Sypher (Craig Horner), Kahlan Amnell (Bridget Regan), and Zeddicus “Zedd” Zu’l Zorander (Bruce Spence). The show began airing back in Novermber 2008 and had its international broadcast in March 2009.[1]

Now that we are past the technical details, I wanted to get to my opinion of this series. I personally love any book, movie, or television series that has to do with medieval times and that I think has a good plot. This series is about a hero named Richard Sypher who is on a quest to defeat all that is evil and bring help to people in need. The first two episodes are actually aired as one long one that lasted about one hour and forty minutes. I really like the overall seriousness that the series is presented to the audience with. It is more about companionship, heroism, combat, and righteousness. I think the main character is pretty awesome but I believe I watch the show because the character of Kahlan Amnell is just awesome and gorgeous. She has some pretty awesome powers and her fighting abilities are not bad at all.

I have to say that the main character, Richard Sypher, gets ridiculously good at fighting in short period of time,but you can see how he struggles a little with making good, strategic, and elaborate decisions & plans. He does continue to train and become better under Zedd’s tutelage. Zedd is a wizard and has some nifty spells and tricks. He is somewhat odd when you first meet him in the series but over some time you can see he is actually very wise. I have only viewed 4 episodes so far and have confirmed it definitely has a very serious plot and feel to it. I however enjoy that very much about this show because it makes the plot so consistent and solid. I will have to read the book series afterwards to compare differences. If you cannot bring yourself to watch it because you don’t like anything with the setting of medieval-like environments & times, then I suggest you watch it so you can see how awesome and gorgeous Kahlan Amnell is. If you refuse to watch it because I describe the series as having a serious feel to its plot, then I suggest you watch it anyway so you can see how awesome and gorgeous Kahlan Amnell is. I know I am not using the actor’s name and instead I have used the character’s name. That is because it is the character I like, but since I keep talking about gorgeousness, I suppose I should say Bridget Regan. In the end, it is up to you to decide whether you think Legend of the Seeker is worth watching or not.
