Many people really don’t know what Linux is but you will be surprised to know what it’s used for. If you have TIVO you have used a specially written Linux kernel. Roughly 75% of the internet websites that you visit use a Linux kernel as their operating system, In fact if you are reading this you are viewing this page on a server that is running CENTOS as it’s operating system.

Google is one of the largest websites that is known to use linux servers, everyone that is reading I’m sure has used google one time or another if it’s their email service or their web search engine, you have used google which is operated on linux servers. Linux has many uses other than just TIVO and websites It’s also used for many small devices that you use like your cell phone.
